ELLE ET LUI 2017 - GILLES GELIN

0,75 L Red Wine / France / Vin de France / 13 % vol

The unique encounter of Syrah and Gamay. It's unheard of!
Elle et Lui ('She and He') is THE surprising encounter brought to us by GILLES GELIN. 'She' is Syrah and 'He' is Gamay... a deliciously visionary union. This is neither a Rhône wine nor a Beaujolais: it is pure creation, a totally unprecedented, exquisite fusion. The Syrah lends all its structure and fragrance, while the Gamay adds the delicate fruitiness. The Domaine des Nugues dared to try this original and triumphant union. The result? A notably mellow wine that goes completely off the beaten track. A wine to introduce someone to in a blind tasting - impressive!

DOMAINE DES NUGUES

Son and grandson of a winegrower, Gérard Gelin acquired the Clos des Nugues in 1976, before joining forces with his son Gilles. Located in the north of the Beaujolais region, on the border of the Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Morgon crus, the estate now covers almost 30 hectares. The average age of the vines is around 45 years, with some of the Gamay vines being over a century old. Les Nugues is one of those estates that are contributing to the renewal of the Beaujolais region, far from the mercantile sirens.
