Chateau Puech Haut is represented by one person: Gérard Bru, an ambitious man who believed in his dream. In just a few years, this Estate has become a staple of Languedoc . Robert Parker even qualified it as “Easily one of the top estates in Languedoc (if not of all southern France )”. Classy and elegant wines at an interesting value for money. Their red wines are full of fruits and body, their white wines are fresh and round. A wonderful selection!
Halfway between the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Cévennes, in Saint-Drézéry, Château Puech-Haut is the cradle of exceptional wines, steeped in history, with a unique identity and strong character. In just a few years, this vineyard has become one of the best known in Languedoc. This is due to the combination of an ideal climate, exceptional soils and the passion of the people who contribute to the uniqueness of the Coteaux du Languedoc wines of this estate. Covering more than 100 hectares, the vineyard of Château Puech-Haut benefits from a Mediterranean climate that favours the finesse of the wines. Cultivated on the three parcels of the vineyard, the vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils covered with rolled pebbles.
If Château Puech-Haut has become an emblematic property of Languedoc, it is also thanks to its founder, Gérard Bru. After a successful career in commerce, he decided to return to the Languedoc region, where he was once introduced to the vineyards by his grandfather. His objective? To reveal the full potential of this exceptional terroir from a raw plot of land, once covered with garrigue and olive trees.
Château Puech-Haut brings together three estates: Château Puech-Haut, Château Lavabre and Domaine de Theyron. These three properties are all anchored in a unique terroir, with exceptional soil and vines.
In order to preserve nature and to respect the vine and its natural cycle, each vineyard is managed according to the principles of integrated viticulture. No chemical weedkillers are used. In addition, the grapes are harvested by hand and at perfect maturity.
Château Puech-Haut offers a wide range of red, white and rosé wines produced in different appellations: Languedoc AOC, Sables de Camargue IGP, Pays d'Oc IGP and Vin de France. Like Château Lavabre, Château Puech Haut also produces wines from the Pic Saint-Loup AOC. On the three plots that make up the vineyard, a wide variety of grape varieties are grown: Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier. These varieties have been chosen to be in harmony with the terroir, allowing the production of exceptional wines.
For rosé wine lovers, the Argali vintage from Château Puech-Haut is an essential reference. Made from a blend of Grenache and Cinsault grape varieties, this gastronomic rosé offers a sublime marriage of elegance, fruitiness and balance. Adorned with a beautiful pale colour, this cuvée reveals a refreshing nose dominated by aromas of exotic fruits and grapefruit. Crisp and thirst-quenching, the palate is remarkably lively with notes of tangy fruit.
Bringing together the Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier grape varieties, Tête de Bélier is recognised as one of the finest white wines of the Languedoc. With its golden yellow colour, this nectar reveals a complex and bright nose of exotic and stone fruits. The roof is raised with warm notes of vine peach and white chocolate. Ample, balanced and supple, the palate offers refreshing citrus flavours and a nice roundness of honey on the finish.
The Tête de Bélier cuvée is also available in red, another fine wine from Languedoc. Born from the marriage of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan grape varieties, this wine is both smooth and powerful. With its garnet-black colour and purple tints, this nectar reveals a nose dominated by aromas of morello cherry, black olive and spices. Density, generosity and silky texture characterise the sensations on the palate.
Cultivating not only wine, but also spirit, Château Puech-Haut is a place where art and creation are honoured. All forms of creativity are celebrated on this estate, whether it be in art, music or gastronomy. Gérard Bru collaborates with various creators and artists, creating works that are both surprising and unbridled.
The Barrik'art is one of these exceptional works of art, which are displayed throughout the year near the Château. Created by an artist from Aveyron, this gigantic barrel measures 12 metres by 12 metres and can theoretically contain 300,000 litres.
From the meeting of Gérard Bru and several local and international artists, a unique collection of entirely painted barrels was also born. Each artist was able to give free rein to their inspiration to personalise the iconic Puech-Haut barrel. For lovers of wine in cubes, perfect for evenings and aperitifs with friends, the majority of these barrels have been made into Bib works of art or Bib'Art.
Allowing you to discover the imprint of these different artists and the wines of Château Puech-Haut, these mini-barrels reproduce the works of art exhibited at the estate. Don't hesitate to visit this site to discover this collection of barrels, each one as remarkable as the next.
