Formerly known as Roc de la Closerie, the estate is located on the extension of Coteau des Merveilles, the most prestigious limestone plateau east of the Garonne. It was a meeting place between the English who occupied Aquitaine and the French who wanted to reconquer their lands. Centuries later, Alex Anglebin, ancestor of the Amoreau family, winegrower and owner of Château Le Puy, famous in Saint- Emilion for its very particular style, revived the vineyard, mainly composed of Mourvèdre and Colombard. In 2013, Pascal Amoreau decided to rename the estate Closerie Saint Roc in homage to its history, and continues his project and ancestral biodynamic methods.
