Vineyard of the Côte de Beaune
Are you a fan of Burgundy fine wines? The vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, in the Côte-d'Or, produce great wines of historical and international renown, including Pernand-Vergelesses. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyards cover approximately 145 hectares, at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres, situated behind the Corton mountain. The production area is strictly limited to the commune of Pernand-Vergelesses and is divided between wines of the Villages appellations and wines classified as Premier Cru. The Pernand-Vergelesses and Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru wines are red wines made from the Pinot Noir grape variety, and the whites are 100% Chardonnay, the two main grape varieties in Burgundy. The white wines have aromas of white flowers and, with age, hints of honey, amber and even spices. The red wines, with their dark ruby colour, have aromas of strawberry, raspberry and violet. Both white and red wines have an ageing potential, but this varies according to their climate. Domaine Chanson Père et Fils, Domaine Louis Latour, Domaine Louis Jadot and Domaine Rapet Père et Fils all master the subtleties of the terroir.

DRY RED WINE
Pernand-Vergelesses red goes perfectly with meats with strong flavours: leg of lamb, pigeon, roast beef or braised pork. For cheese, choose Tomme de Savoie, Reblochon or Cîteaux.
DRY WHITE WINE
The white Pernand-Vergelesses is the ideal companion for fish, sushi, pasta or risotto with shellfish. It also goes very well with goat's cheese or Abondance.
Located between Aloxe and Ladoix, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesse is one of the first wine-producing villages of the Côte de Beaune. In addition to its three famous Grands Crus (Corton, Corton-Charlemagne and Charlemagne), this appellation has eight climates classified as Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru:
The Pernand-Vergelesses red Premier Cru wines are distinguished by their balance, their great finesse and their round and silky tannins. The white wines are more complex and concentrated, with great freshness and a beautiful minerality.
Both the white and red wines of the Pernand-Vergelesses AOC go wonderfully well with refined cuisine and appeal to lovers of French gastronomy. While the white goes wonderfully with fish, sushi and risotto with shellfish or crustaceans, the red is the ideal companion for quality dishes and in particular meats with developed flavours, such as leg of lamb, pigeon or roast beef. These Burgundy wines make for subtle and elegant gastronomic pairings. For the perfect match, remember to serve your Pernand-Vergelesses at the right temperature!
The Pernand-Vergelesses AOC offers wines of remarkable quality, whose exceptional character comes from both the grape varieties and the climate. Indeed, the wines from this appellation are red wines made from the Pinot Noir grape variety, and the whites 100% Chardonnay, the two emblematic grape varieties in Burgundy. The cuvées from this appellation are just as good as the other prestigious appellations around and are more accessibly priced than its illustrious Côte de Beaune neighbours.
