Aloxe-Corton AOC
Aloxe-Corton, pronounced "Alosse", is a communal AOC in the Burgundy vineyards, marking the border between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Located on the Corton mountain, at an altitude of nearly 300 metres, the appellation has 14 Premiers Crus, including Maréchaudes, Valozières and Fournières, to name but a few. Aloxe-Corton produces almost exclusively powerful and generous red wines from the vineyard's flagship varietal, Pinot Noir. The production of white wines from the Chardonnay grape is very rare.
