Beaune, the capital of Burgundy's wine trade, is located in the Côte de Beaune subregion.
It produces both red and white wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes respectively.
Beaune has more Premiers Crus than any other appellation in Burgundy.
The red wines are fleshy and generous while the white wines have a charming bouquet of almonds, dried fruits and white flowers.
