LEAVE YOUR REVIEWpronounced intensity, chocolate, leather, wet leaves, jamminess, dried plum, baked plum, baked blueberry, liquorice, fig, prune, eucalyptus, raisin, sultana, preserved plum, raspberry, blueberry, red cherry, violet. Dry, high acidity, med tannin, high alcohol, full body. Long finish. Very good wine
A beautiful structured wine with deep ruby colour. It has a very nice nose: blackberry, cassis, tobacco and minerals. It is very well balanced with nice structured tannins, good acidity and nice lingering finish. On the palate come aromas of cassis, black cherry, chocolate, nutmeg. It will age well.
Mid-range young Chateauneuf du Pape that was initially quite closed and stern, but it opened up after some decanting. Tannins are soft enough already and the fruit is dominant in the nose and in the mouth, with some vanilla, spice and Mediterranean herb aromas.
The Domaine Durieu was shaped little by little under the leadership of Paul Durieu in the 1970s. The cellar was created in 1976, the date of the first vintage. The peculiarity of this estate is due to the age of the vines, some predating the First World War, as well as younger vines. The vineyard offers a complete palette ranging from Côtes du Ventoux to Châteauneuf-du-Pape passing through Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu. Today, the wines of the Durieu estate have acquired significant notoriety (in particular thanks to their presence at trade fairs, wine fairs for individuals, in wine merchants or major restaurants). In addition, the wines of the Durieu estate are referenced in guides such as those of Parker or that of Jancis Robinson.
