Pierre Usseglio, of Italian origin, came to work in Châteauneuf-du-Pape between the two wars. He fell in love with the region and set up on his own in 1948 by taking over 8 hectares. The prices of these have remained reasonable given the price surges of the past five years. Their Mon Aïeul cuvée contrasts with the rest of the production.
