The entire Beaurenard vineyard (60 hectares) is organically farmed (certified by Ecocert) and even cultivated biodynamically (certified by Demeter), without the use of synthetic chemicals. This means that the vines are in tune with nature, the lunar and planetary cycles and cosmic rhythms. Based on this principle, the estate applies biodynamic preparations at key moments (horn manure, manure compost, silica, etc.) to strengthen the vines' natural defences. To perfect this strength, plant infusions are sprayed regularly (nettle, yarrow, horsetail, chamomile, etc.). In the vineyard, this translates into herbicide-free soil cultivation, with the spreading of carefully energised manure and thoughtful grass cover (depending on weather conditions). The creation of a conservatory with the 13 grape varieties authorised by the appellation, sourced from the oldest vines on the Domaine de Beaurenard, also contributes to biodiversity. The grape varieties, selected over a period of five years, were grafted on site using the traditional cleft grafting method, in a plot that had been left fallow for 12 years. The estate's primary goal is to preserve this natural genetic heritage, which is particularly well suited to the terroir. The idea is also to think about future generations and, if global warming continues, to increase the percentage of these grape varieties, which have less sugar (and therefore less alcohol) and offer greater aromatic complexity.
