The wines of this appellation flourish in Languedoc Roussillon. They are produced in four departments bordering the Mediterranean: the Pyrénées Orientales, the Aude, the Hérault and the Gard. They mainly produce red, rosé and white varietal wines, but the freedom of blending leaves a large scope for creativity. The range of 58 grape varieties is so wide and the soils so varied that it is difficult to define a style of wine. The common denominator is the sun which gives them an undeniable complexity. Wines from the South that adapt to every occasion and enjoy considerable success. In red and rosé wines, the main varietals are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Grenache Noir, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Marselan and Petit Verdot. The white wine is made from Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Terret Blanc, Muscat Petits Grains, Marsanne and Vermentino. Languedoc-Roussillon wines are renowned for their great value for money compared to the old guard, and the Pays d'Oc appellation is at the fore front of the charge, as pleasing to the palate as they are to the wallet. As proof, this appellation includes many of our best-selling wines from the region. Discover these wines without further delay!
