The Loire Valley is one of the largest wine-growing regions in France and one of the most beautiful in the world. Famous for its mild climate and the beauty of its Renaissance castles, the Loire Valley produces a wide range of wines. The Loire Valley, which is geographically diverse, gives rise to wines of great fame: Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre, Saumur, Chinon, Muscadet, Coteaux du Layon, Touraine and Vouvray, white and red wines alike, sparkling and dessert wines too. Situated in the north-west of France the cooler weather produces quality whites as well as surprising reds and rosés. Definitely a region to try, some great names have been born here!
