The appellation produces still white wines and sparkling wines in all sweetness levels from Chenin Blanc variety. Vouvray is located on the right bank of the Loire river. These are wines of great finesse and elegance. In their youth the wines show apple, quince and mineral notes. Best examples can age more than 30 years. With age the wines develop aromas of honeysuckle and lanolin.
