LEAVE YOUR REVIEWThis is uncompromising excellence! Combination of full-bodied but balanced tannins, spices and chocolate, and red and black fruit taste. Great value for money - highly recommended!
Fragrant berries and oak on the nose. Blackberries, cherries, plums, pepper, medicinal herbs, bitter chocolate, smoky notes, balsamique. Very good balance between berry juiciness and earthiness with a young, noticable, but very smooth tannin backbone. Interesting, quite unique and worth trying.
A stunning wine! What a fascinating (and brilliant) idea to blend the savoury meatiness of N Rhone Syrah with the perfumed spice of S Rhone Grenache. The end result is quite uniquely wonderful. It went really well with noisettes of lamb in a rich port sauce.
Very smooth. Tasted a couple of weeks ago so tasting notes are a little rusty. Allegedly a cross of Cote-Rotie and Gigondas - Weirdly didn’t show any substantial evidence of either but did have typical Rhône qualities. But drank very well indeed
Wonderful blend bringing together the strength of the northern and southern rhone. Why hasn't someone done this before?
A powerful and deep wine, made from grapes from both the north and south Rhone. Excellent ageing potential but drinking well now - and just the right weight of barrique flavour to complement the excellent dark fruit.
Xavier Vignon is one of the most renowned oenologists in the Rhone wine region. He has worked as a consultant to more than 200 wineries in the Rhone Valley and has gained a worldwide reputation for his expertise and collaboration on the best wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He started his own production in 2002, and the winery is now known for wines of exceptional quality and Xavier Vignon's own style of wine, both of which make him a successful winemaker. Elegant and well-balanced wines that beautifully reflect the terroir, because terroir and minerality are the philosophy of his work and not only in wine production, as he also runs an oenological institute, where he explores these aspects. His wines obtain the highest scores in the Robert Parker Guide.
