Which wine to serve with creamy French mustard chicken? Our experts suggest Syrah from Rhône. A grape variety that expresses itself with strength!
INGREDIENTS
PREPARATION
Suggested accompaniment: Pan-fried new potatoes
Syrah: simply from Rhône! The history of vineyards and wine has long attributed Persian origins to Syrah variety (the town of Shiraz in Iran).
But DNA analysis, thanks to our recent technological advances, has put an end to these stories: Syrah is indeed native to the Rhône Valley, the result of a cross between two regional grape varieties (Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche)
Gourmand with its aromas of violets, pepper and leather, sometimes cocoa, even smoky, Syrah expresses itself with strength and elegance.
Our experts have chosen a wine for this pairing that will charm the most indecisive: it is a cuvée from Domaine Louis Chèze on which they have set their devotion:
Our suggestion: SYRAHVISSANTE - LOUIS CHEZE
A delightful 100% Syrah with lots of texture and freshness through to the finish. A wine that is delicious and fruity. The structure is smooth and velvety, with almost jammy fruit flavours.
Frank attack, with a nice roundness in the mouth. This full-bodied wine is warm and fleshy with chicken in a creamy sauce.
This is a good way to assert itself in front of the mustard flavours without overdoing it, in a balance of complementary aromas.
Winemaker's description:
❝It is a great discovery of Rhodanian Syrah, with its fruitiness and spicy aromas, worked with the same rigour since 1984❞
