Entre-deux-Mers AOC

Entre-deux-Mers is a vast appellation between the two rivers Garonne and Dordogne in Bordeaux. Its name comes from this geographical feature and its oceanic influence. Vines have been cultivated in this region since the Middle Ages, brought by the Benedictine monks who made its reputation. Entre-deux-Mers produces dry white wines recognized for their freshness, their vivacity and whose flagship grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. The terroir of the appellation is very varied, thanks to its diversity of soils and exposures. Therefore, the resulting wines have different aromatic profiles. Although Entre-deux-Mers is mainly known for its dry white wines, the wine-growing area is very favourable to the development of the botrytis fungus, which produces sweet wines. Discover this Bordeaux appellation with the Domaine de Cheval Quancard and Château Turcaud.

TASTING NOTES

vin rouge

DRY WHITE WINE

Appearance : A beautiful pale gold colour.

Nose : The bouquet is elegant. The Sémillon grape variety expresses itself through fruity aromas such as citrus and exotic fruits. The Sauvignon variety brings notes of gooseberry and white flowers.

Palate : A skilful blend of sweetness, acidity and freshness. From clayey-siliceous soils, the wine's mouth is full and ample, more powerful than the nose. A wine whose soils are mostly sandy-clay has a light, delicate palate that contrasts with the intensity of the bouquet. In any case, the wine remains very refreshing.

Aging potential : 1 to 3 years.

Service : Between 7°C and 11°C

FOOD AND WINE PAIRING

vin rouge

DRY WHITE WINE Thanks to their strong iodine flavour, Entre-deux-Mers wines go well with grilled fish, seafood and shellfish. They go especially well with fresh oysters! Avoid more complex dishes or dishes with sauces, as too many flavours and textures could upset the balance of the food and wine pairing.
