Whisky

Whisky is produced by distilling one or more types of grain and is matured in oak casks. Behind every sip of this spirit lies a long, traditional process, passed down from generation to generation.

Three ingredients are all that is needed to make whisky: grains, water and yeast. The choice of grain generally defines the whisky’s style, giving it its distinctive flavours. The term whisky encompasses various categories, but blended whisky and single malt whisky are certainly the best known.

Compared to Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey, Japanese whisky is generally smoother and more delicate.

In recent years, France has established itself as a key player in the world of whisky.
