Perfect grape variety to pair with seafood
Also known as Melon, Muscadet.
Very little planted in its region of origin Burgundy, Melon de Bourgogne is more cultivated in the Loire Valley. It is the only variety allowed in the Muscadet appellations, from which the most famous Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine AOC. The particularity of Melon de Bourgogne is the prolonged ageing of the wine on fine lees, method called sur lie. This method provides wines that are fresher and more complex in style. The wines show a delicate perfum of apple and citrus fruit combined with mineral and iodine notes.

Pale yellow in colour. They show delicate aromas of lemon, grapefruit, apple and some mineral notes. These wines are light and fresh on the palate. The lees ageing gives them a richer and creamier mouthfeel.
Perfect match with seafood dishes. Especially with oysters. Pairs well with goat's cheese.
