Crémant de Savoie AOC
Savoie wine-growing region
Crémant de Savoie is an appellation d'origine contrôlée sparkling wine produced in France in the departments of Savoy, Haute-Savoie, Isère and Ain. The Crémant de Savoie AOC was the last of the French Crémants to be officially recognised in 2015, joining the Crémant family. The appellation's 57 hectares of vineyards produce sparkling wines from two of Savoie's main grape varieties, Jacquère and Altesse, complemented by Chardonnay, Aligoté, Mondeuse, Chasselas, Molette, Gamay and Pinot Noir. This highly complex sparkling wine is made using the traditional method, which consists of a second fermentation in the bottle, as for all other crémants and Champagne. This Champagne method gives it the secret of its much-loved fine bubbles. For lovers of sparkling wines, discover this appellation through the cuvées of Château de la Violette and Cave de Cruet.
