Exclusively made from Chardonnay, there are 40 vineyards classified as Chablis Premier Cru. Among the best-known are Montée de Tonnere, Vaillons and Fourchaume. Two words characterize them: freshness and elegance. Compared with the basic Chablis, Premier Cru shows riper fruit flavours, more body and more mineral notes. This classification is excellently highlighted by Jean Marc Brocard, William Fèvre and Maison Simonnet Febvre.
Dry, lively and light, roundness and distinction are common to all the Premiers Crus of the appellation. Incisive, but generous, these wines have a beautiful lingering finish that is reserved for gastronomic dishes. Drink within 5 to 8 years.
