In Italy, the finest wine is probably Barolo in Piedmont region (grappe variety: Nebbiolo). The most famous is for sure the Prosecco in Veneto region (main grape variety: Glera). If you like sparkling red wines, have a look to Lambrusco in Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions (grape variety is also Lambrusco). Puglia region offers good and affordable wines (grape varieties: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Chardonnay...). Amarone della Valpolicella is produced in Veneto region (grape varieties: Corvina, Rondinella...). Tuscany is known for its Chianti or Brunello di Montalcino wines (grape varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot, Trebbiano...).
