LEAVE YOUR REVIEWMy go-to when I want a no nonsense Sauternes. Really lovely classic sauternes flavours of mature yellow fruit and honey with a great palette-cleaning minerality, at an unbeatable price. I always keep at least a few bottles on hand.
Simple sauternes, with golden color, didn't age too long. Smells like honey, honeysuckle, white flowers, and ripe apple. Taste is more like pear, apricot jam, honey. Maybe needs a bit more aging, for me, it doesn't have enough character. Good match with cheese, nuts, and foie gras.
This Sauternes has the particularity of having the richness required for this type of wine, the balance in the mouth is perfect with foie gras, the sweetness is just right. I recommend this wine.
Vignobles Dourthe - above all else these are wine makers across six Bordeaux châteaux. Each estate is managed with drive by a young, dynamic team, overseen by Frédéric Bonnaffous, Director at Vignobles Dourthe. Their aim is to showcase the terroir and to produce distinctive wines that are references for their appellation.
