Conquered by the beauty of the landscape, the engineer Pierluigi Tagliabue decided in 1979 to buy the company and undertook the restructuring of the estate. Today, Villa Poggio Salvi has 21 hectares of vineyards in Montalcino, all planted with Sangiovese Grosso clones. The optimum altitude between 300 and 500 meters, the soil rich in marl and the breeze of the Tyrrhenian Sea, maintain the ideal soil and the perfect microclimate for the vineyard. In 1998, the company was enriched with a new domain in Chianti, "Casavecchia", where it produces Chianti Colli Senesi, Tosco and Lavischio, our IGT made from Sangiovese and Merlot . Villa Poggio Salvi is a forward-looking company, run with passion and competence by Pierluigi Tagliabue and his nephew and oenologist Luca Belingardi.
