A Tuscan estate situated in the medieval hamlet of San Felice (in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, near Siena), whose origins date back to the 1700s, San Felice is an integral part of Tuscany’s history and its prestigious wine appellations. The estate’s vineyards, situated at the crossroads of the Chianti, Montalcino and Bolgheri appellation zones, are distinguished by the strong presence of indigenous grape varieties, including the famous Sangiovese, which accounts for over 80% of the 150 hectares of vines (alongside other rarer indigenous varieties, such as Pugnitello). With a focus on sharing and the future, San Felice, owned by the Allianz Group since the early 1980s, embodies Tuscan winemaking excellence, balancing longevity with constant evolution (notably by drawing on the expertise of leading oenologists). A philosophy, a savoir-faire and a way of life to be discovered through the excellent range of wines – mainly reds, but also a few whites and a ‘santo’ wine, typical of the region – combining a faithful expression of the terroir with freshness and new energy. On site, the Relais & Châteaux hotel Borgo San Felice helps to create an immersive experience during an unforgettable stay in the heart of the Super Tuscan region (these pioneering wines, which contributed to the wine-growing renaissance, such as San Felice’s Vigorello, created in 1968).
