Nestled in the heart of the Penedès, the Recaredo estate has, since 1924, embodied a deeply artisanal and exacting vision of fine sparkling wines . A founding member of Corpinnat, this family-run estate—now led by Ton Mata—produces terroir-driven wines of rare precision, made exclusively as Brut Nature and always vintage-dated. At Recaredo, every detail reflects a philosophy of absolute respect for living things: organic and biodynamic viticulture, ploughing with horses, hand-grape harvest, historic Catalan grape varieties such as Xarel·lo and Macabeu, and long ageing on the lees in the estate’s underground cellars. Here, time is not a marketing tool, but a raw material. The Recaredo style is characterised by exceptionally fine bubbles, wines that are straightforward, briny and deeply gastronomic, where the purity of the fruit meets an incredible depth of texture. Manual disgorging ‘à la volée’, extended ageing under cork and the absence of dosage result in cuvées of rare authenticity, capable of rivalling the world’s finest sparkling wines. More than just a producer, Recaredo has become one of the symbols of Catalonia’s quality revival: an independent, pioneering and committed house that gives voice to the Penedès landscape with remarkable sincerity.
