The Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded in the 13th century by the Knights Templar. Located in the foothills of the Massif des Maures, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Verdon, the estate covers nearly 850 hectares of trees and scrubland, protecting the vineyard at its centre. A new era began in 2001 for the Commanderie, thanks to its new owner Philippe Austruy and the production of Côtes de Provence appellation wines, made from a terroir of clay-limestone soil and a rich diversity of grape varieties. These wines are renowned for their great elegance and Provençal authenticity.
