By itself, the name of Petrus is a legend! Throughout the 19th century the estate belonged to the Arnaud family. In 1925, a Libournaise, Ms. Loubat, took shares in the property. Twenty years later, she is the sole owner. Not admitting that Médoc wines sell for more than Pomerols and in particular hers, she does everything to take advantage of such a promising terroir. In a few decades the myth was born. In 1961, Ms. Lacoste and Mr. Lignac, niece and nephew of Mme Loubat, inherited the estate.
