The Mitjavile family is a dynasty of Bordeaux winemakers. If the father, François Mitjavile, raised Tertre-Rotebœuf to the level of the greatest wines of Saint- Emilion (sometimes surpassing them in blind tastings), the son, Louis, set up the Domaine de l'Aurage (formerly Château Cadet). The latter preferred to produce a wine as close as possible to his own image, selecting the grape varieties as he saw fit and thus renouncing the prestigious Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation. This does not prevent the success of the wine from being well and truly achieved!
