When they acquired their first vineyards in 1976, they were unaware of the difficulties and joys that awaited them, but they threw themselves into the venture with enthusiasm. Forty years later, they are passing on a domaine that is now renowned in Languedoc , where the wines express a profound character that is faithful to their terroir. At Mas Champart, built in the limestone Mediterranean landscape of Saint-Chinian, the terraces, stony soils and old vines require constant attention, especially in organic farming. At an altitude of between 210 and 300 metres, their 16 hectares form a mosaic of terroirs surrounded by scrubland, olive trees and pine forests, shaped by generations. Today, they are making way for a new, experienced team with exciting plans for the future. Their commitment to protecting the environment, which spans more than thirty years, remains strong, with naturally enriched soils and cultivation practices adapted to each plot, right down to the old vines ploughed with a crawler tractor.
