It was in 1935, in the heart of Burgundy , that Antoine Clavelier decided to create his own House after having acquired a solid experience as cellar master with different producers. He was advised by his uncle Jean Pinot (the aptly named!) Who was then owner of vineyards and renowned wine broker. In 1992, for the first time in over 50 years, the house changed hands. Born in Burgundy and co-owner of a family estate of 18 ha, Henri Noël Thomas, associated with his wife Isabelle Thomas, took over Maison Clavelier in 2001. In 2005, Gérard Clavelier, head wine merchant for 40 years, left the family house for a well deserved retirement. In 2006, La Maison acquired a wine estate in Fixin. The Clavelier estate is expanding into Nuits-Saint-Georges, Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellations. Driven by a passion for wine, Henri Noël and Isabelle Thomas combine art and tradition with respect for the terroirs to offer connoisseurs' palates the greatest wines of Burgundy.
