In the heart of Bas Armagnac, the Domaine de Ménard & Haut Marin is located along the famous Via Podensis, a route taken for centuries by pilgrims going to Santiago de Compostela. In this beautiful landscape characteristic of Gascony, they farm 180 hectares, exclusively in the Côtes de Gascogne appellation. The parcels are located on a renowned marine geological site. The whole region was swallowed up by the sea 23 million years ago. There are still many fossils and shells at the foot of the Gondrin vines. On shallow and stony clay-limestone soils, the vines of Colombard, Ugni Blanc, and Sauvignon produce dry white wines. On the deep tawny sands of the estate, the Petit and Gros Manseng grapes, harvested overripe, allow the production of sweet wines of exceptional finesse.
