As far back as we can trace, there has always been a Tortochot winegrower in Gevrey. In the last century, Gabriel's grandfather, Paul, was a small winemaker on the Place des Marronniers. His son, Félix, started a family with Louise Liébaut from Morey. The Liébauts are well known, with a Pinot Noir vine bearing their name in honour of their ancestor Eugène, who selected it. Félix's son, Gabriel, now farms a dozen hectares.
