It was in Gevrey-Chambertin, in 1919, that the Domaine Jean Trapet Père & Fils was born. The Domaine has since established itself as one of the flagship Domaines of Burgundy . Today, Domaine Trapet covers 15 hectares of vines: 13.5 in Pinot Noir , and 1.5 in Chardonnay, and thrives by providing splendid wines under the Grands Crus Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Gevrey Chambertin appellations. The Domaine has demonstrated modernity by working in biodynamics since 1995, and acquired a whole new reputation when Jean-Louis Trapet married Andrée Gayer, heir to an estate in Riquewihr in Alsace . Therefore, the two spouses decided to combine their know-how in order to work hand in hand in a style which does honor to Burgundy, of course, but also to Alsace. Today, the Domaine Trapet & Fils is one of the most prestigious and recognized in Burgundy, spearheaded by the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Prieur which is an absolute reference.
