Installed with Caroline his wife on 20 hectares, Louis Mitjavile, took over Château Cadet in 2007 and changed its name to Domaine de l'Aurage. The desire to produce your own wine by putting the heritage of family know-how to work is essential. Because yes, Louis is none other than the son of the very charismatic François Mitjavile, a fiercely independent and very daring pioneer who knew how to compete with the Saint-Émilion appellation. Entered through the back door in the 70s, located on the famous Château Tertre-Rotebœuf. he was able to break into the very closed world of Bordeaux Grands Vins by relying on his talent. Domaine de L'Aurage is for Louis a playground where he excels in the interpretation of his favorite grape variety : Merlot . It is besides the specialty of Mitjavile. Often called upon in the Bordeaux region, Louis also works in other vineyards: the Rhône or even the Languedoc . What drives it is the search for performance: Revealing the best of the terroir, to raise a wine at the best of its expression: Extract its quintessence.
