Wine-maker in the Languedoc and owner of Domaine Canet-Valette, Marc Valette, is an uncompromising personality who's driven to shake things up. His grandfather gave him his passion for vines and land. But weary of seeing his grapes end up in a cooperative, he decided to set up his own domaine in 1992. His wines are built in his own image, have a slightly rough-around-the-edges aspect due to their very long ageing, but are not lacking in expressiveness, urbanity and smoothness.
