At the beginning of the 19th century, Alphonse Mellot created a guesthouse in Sancerre where he made people appreciate the wines of the region and thus gave his business a boom that will continue to assert itself. In 1881, a license was granted which allowed him to ship his wine in France and around the world. It is the beginning of a peaceful conquest, and, since that date, the family house continues to expand, from father to son, the eldest of each generation bears the first name of the founder. father and son (18th and 19th respectively of the name) perpetuate this old wine tradition. The wines are produced by the high vineyards of Sancerre, the famous of which is the Domaine de la Moussière. Its exceptional quality has made it the only one in Sancerrois to benefit from the prestigious "hors concours" mention. The Domaine de la Moussière has an area of over thirty hectares, all in one piece.
