A brand of the Terra Moretti group, founded by the ‘lord of the bubbles’ Vittorio Moretti – alongside Bellavista, one of Franciacorta’s leading houses – Contadi Castaldi represents the new generation of Italy ’s oldest sparkling wine . With its youthful and trendy image, Contadi Castaldi is making premium sparkling wine (the equivalent of French Champagne ) more accessible, whilst celebrating its history (the name Contadi Castaldi refers to the Counts and Lords of Franciacorta) and bringing its exceptional expertise to the table. Based in Adro, south of Lake Iseo, in the province of Brescia (Lombardy), Contadi Castaldi relies on the meticulous work of local winegrowers, renowned for their outstanding produce. Situated at the heart of the Franciacorta DOCG area, the estate’s vineyards – mainly planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across a mosaic of terroirs – produce a range of modern, original and varied Franciacorta wines. Renowned for its Satèn cuvée, the estate’s speciality, Contadi Castaldi produces wines with fine, persistent bubbles, nuanced aromas, deep flavours and consistent quality. As for the cellar, established in 1987 within the Biasca brickworks – a former industrial site belonging to the family of Mariella Moretti, Vittorio’s wife – it now welcomes sparkling wine enthusiasts from all over the world into its long brick-lined galleries.
