This itinerant winemaker produces wine throughout Spain to showcase the different terroirs." Telmo Rodríguez is one of Spain's pioneering winemakers, championing indigenous grape varieties linked to the climates and conditions of their sites, and producing world-class wines from both unknown and well-known regions. While Telmo Rodriguez produces rare and limited wines of astonishing character and quality (his grand cuvée Yjar and his 100/100 Robert Parker ), his everyday wines have also been praised and widely recognised for the tremendous value they offer. Telmo was among the first to produce significant wines in Toro, Rueda, Valdeorras, Malaga, Alicante and Cigales. In these regions, he uses indigenous grape varieties, often rediscovered grapes such as Godello, Verdejo, Moscatel and Monastrell that are not widely recognised. Alongside other classically recognised varieties such as Tempranillo , Garnacha and Carignan, he works with indigenous vines that reflect the character of their particular site. As a result, Telmo has been one of the leaders of the quality revolution with these grape varieties in emerging areas such as Toro, as well as in the traditional areas of Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Each micro-project is conducted with a local partner.
