Clos de l'Écotard, covering 15 hectares in the Saumur region, is a family adventure that began in 2011 under the impetus of Michel Chevré, on his family's land. Over time, his passion rubbed off on his youngest son, Thibaud, who joined him in 2017 to become fully involved in the estate. In 2024, he took over the reins, accompanied by his right-hand man, Guillaume, thus continuing the family history with a new generation. The estate cultivates a beautiful diversity of grape varieties on a range of clay-limestone, sandy and clay-sandy terroirs. Committed to organic farming since 2011 with biodynamic practices (grass cover, horse-drawn ploughing, etc.), it focuses on meticulous vineyard work and low yields to produce lively and expressive wines. The grapes are harvested by hand, fermentation is natural, and ageing takes place in vats, barrels and jars, depending on the cuvée. The result is fine, mineral and elegant wines that reflect the authenticity of the terroir and the estate's high standards.
