Château Troplong Mondot is produced from a clay-limestone terroir. Powerful, structured and with full, complex tannins, it opens up with time giving strong aromas of truffle and blackberry. In 1985, the quality standards at Troplong Mondot were supported by their rigorous selection for its great wines. Dominating the whole of the north-east area of the Saint- Emilion region, the Mondot hilltop rises to a height of 100 metres. In a region where the majority of the estates hardly go beyond 10 hectares, Troplong Mondot is one of the "large" domaines in Saint-Emilion with its 33 hectares.
