Château La Tour Bayard is located in the heart of the Libournais region, between Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, in the Montagne-Saint-Émilion appellation. This 10-hectare estate has been owned by the Nicoletti family since 1956. Today, it is run by Fanny Richard-Nicoletti, the daughter of the original buyers. Her husband Bruno Richard is a horticulturist and owns 4,500 square metres of greenhouses where he works, like his wife, with scrupulous respect for the environment.Returning to the vineyard, its 10 hectares are located on clay-limestone soil, which is cultivated using sustainable methods that aim to reduce chemical treatments in order to produce healthy, natural crops that express the terroir that gives them life. No fertilisers are added to the soil, only natural compost to ensure its microbiological balance. The vineyard is dominated by Merlot , with Cabernet Franc and a little Malbec alongside it. In the cellar, vinification is traditional and parcel-by-parcel.
