Château Montus is in the south-west of France , near to the cities of Pau and Tarbes facing the Pyrenees. Along with Châteaux Bouscassé it forms part of the Brumont vineyards. The vineyard is made up of two properties - Montus et Bouscassé - extending over 180 hectares in the Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic Bilh and Vin de Pays of the Côtes de Gascogne appellations. Alain Brumont directs the estates and has implemented many changes, knowing how to do what no one before him has been able to. That is, to choose the best parcels for each cultivar, replant with the best graftings, double the number of rootstock per hectare to multiply their potential, reduce yields and adapt fermentation to each grape variety . He was also the first in the appellation to age his wines in new barrels.
