Château Maine Chaigneau, located in Néac in the Bordeaux region, is a family-run wine estate founded in 1985, continuing a winemaking tradition that began in the early 20th century. Now run by Cédric Courty and his family, the estate covers 7.8 hectares, 5 of which are in the Lalande-de- Pomerol appellation, on gravelly and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is characterised by a high planting density (7,500 vines per hectare), which encourages more concentrated grapes. The grape varieties, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Franc , are carefully cultivated to express the full richness of the terroir. The wines, often praised for their elegance and balance, offer aromas of red fruits, blackberry and cocoa, with a full-bodied and smooth palate.
