Sited as its name suggests in 50 hectares on a wide slope of deep gravel, this vineyard occupies one of the most beautiful locations in the Médoc. With 65% Cabernet Sauvignon , 25% Merlot , 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit-Verdot, Ducru-Beaucaillou produces a wine that's considered quintessentially Bordeaux, and more specifically of the Médoc. The owner, Bruno Borie, pays the utmost attention to quality and meticulously cares for the vines, as well as applying a stringent grape selection process. All of this leads to a wine that is supremely elegant and balanced, but never gaudy, and it can easily be stored for more than 10 years before it releases its true character.
