Pitray Castle has a total of 100 hectares comprising a third of meadows, a third of forest and a third of vines. Its architecture looks great with its battlements and machicolations, and has its origins in the 14th century. The Pitray vineyard covers exactly 36 hectares in one piece on the clay-limestone plateau of Gardegan, facing south, 8 km as the crow flies from the bell tower of St- Emilion . It is planted with Merlot (73%), Cabernet Franc (23%) and Malbec (4%). The vines, with an average age of 30 years, produce a great wine bearing the Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation which is very successful every year.
