Château Couhins-Lurton is a wine estate of around 25 hectares located in Villenave. Founded at the end of the 17th century and passed through the following century in the hands of the Blanchereau family, wealthy Bordeaux notaries. In 1967, André Lurton rented this vineyard. In 1970, he acquired part of this estate which had become the property of the National Institute for Agronomic Research. He operates it today under the name Couhins-Lurton with the title of Cru Classé de Graves.
