Following the opening of the market in the 1980s, wine has carved out a place for itself in China, where it has developed at a rapid pace. Recently, a few wineries have taken a gamble on quality by partnering with European producers. Founded in 1892, Changyu is the first Chinese winery to produce wine on a large scale. Twelve years ago, the estate partnered with Lenz Maria Moser, the fifth generation of a famous Austrian wine-producing family. Despite the cultural differences between the two worlds, CHANGYU and Lenz M. Moser share the same vision: to be the first Chinese wine producers recognised on the international stage and to make Château CHANGYU MOSER XV the leading Chinese château. Since 2015, Lenz M. Moser has been making the château's wines in collaboration with his counterpart, Chinese winemaker Mr Fan Xi. Together, they aspire to perfect the typical and authentic wine style of Ningxia with the aim of carving out a place for themselves in China's emergence on the global wine scene. The task that Lenz M. Moser strives to accomplish in each of his vintages is to improve their quality year after year... A mission that makes sense for this wine and China enthusiast.
