Located at the southern gates of the pretty medieval town of Saint Émilion, in the Libournais region, and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Château's vineyard is composed of old vines, some of which are at least 110 years old. Under the Saint Émilion Grand Cru appellation, it is one of two estates, along with Château Cheval Blanc , to be classified as Premier Grand Cru Classés A. However, they did not wish to participate in the 2022 Saint Emilion Grand Cru classification. A great wine with a finesse characteristic of the best Bordeaux vintages, endowed with a character unique to the château's limestone terroir. Ausone also produces a second wine under the name "Chapelle d'Ausone".
