Anselmo Mendes studied agronomy and oenology for several years in Lisbon, he then returned to his native village to produce his first wine in the Vinho Verde region and then try the adventure with an indigenous grape that fascinates him so much: Alvarinho. This passion for this white grape variety from the region led him to experiment with many oenological techniques still unknown for the region. He is notably the first to age this flagship grape in French oak barrels to bring roundness and complexity to his wines. The international press considers him to be the most innovative winemaker in Vinho Verde. These wines are regularly praised by critics around the world and we were charmed by this pure, modern and subtle style of whites which definitely belong to the greatest wines in the country!
