Morey Saint Denis AOC

Located in the Côtes Nuits vineyards in the Côte-d'Or, the northernmost wine region of Burgundy, the Morey Saint Denis appellation produces red wines almost exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape variety, but also rarer white wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Rich in Premiers Crus, the commune is an essential stop on the road to the Great Wines of Burgundy. The red wine, powerful, full-bodied and ample in the mouth, offers the right balance between the strength of the body and the expression of the fruit. Robustness and finesse are the order of the day. Full-bodied, this wine will age with distinction.

SHALL WE TASTE?

vin rouge

REDS

Appearance: Beautiful deep colour that evolves from bright ruby to intense garnet. Purplish highlights in its youth.

Nose: The bouquet develops over the years, with aromas of black fruit (blackcurrant, blueberry), red stone fruit (Morello cherry) and floral notes of carnation, violet and liquorice. The aromas of fruits macerated in brandy and animal notes (leather, musk) appear with age in the great vintages. A heady perfume.

Palate: Sustained and structured, it combines finesse and robustness. The notes of truffles and undergrowth are firmly established. Its generous tannins know how to support dishes of character.

Serving Temp.: young wine 12 to 14°C; older wine 15 to 16°C

Ageing Potential : 3 to 15 years for the best vintages.

ORGANIC AND BIONYAMY, SECOND NATURE!

Without being certified, the Pinot Noir here is cultivated organically or biodynamically, as are most of the vineyards in the prestigious surrounding appellations. Green harvesting, by hand, is increasingly practiced in this appellation, an operation carried out with the aim of regulating yields and above all increasing the quality of the remaining grapes. This important detail helps the wines, which are already based on precise plot work, to progress.
