Montagne-Saint-Émilion AOC

Situated to the north of Libourne, the town of Saint-Émilion, the appellation covers 1600 hectares of hilly countryside, ideal for wine-growing. Formerly simply called a "satellite of the Saint-Émilion appellation", like Lussac-Saint-Émilion, Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion and Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion, the producers of this area were granted the creation of the AOC in 1936 to add the name of their village to that of Saint-Émilion. A magnificent vineyard to visit where the vines blend with Romanesque buildings, ancient fortresses (Château des Tours) or neo-classical houses: a genuine architectural heritage in the heart of a vineyard that was itself the first to be listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Producing only red wines marked by the typicity of Merlot that brings elegance and aromatic richness. The blend is completed by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Racy and powerful red wines, complex but very supple. Wines that improve with time.

APPELLATION MONTAGNE-SAINT-ÉMILION

SHALL WE TASTE?

vin rouge saint emilion

Reds

A ruby colour with dark shades. The nose offers aromas of blackcurrant, prune, cherry, pepper and blackberry undergrowth, along with animal notes (leather, game). Delicate roasted and chocolatey notes are inherited from the ageing in oak barrels.

Full-bodied and refined on the palate, the aromas reveal the complexity of the appellation. The tannins remain powerful without betraying the fruity balance. Beautiful persistence.

The grapes bring their same characteristics that are also present in the other Saint-Émilion wines.

On the palate, it is elegant and full-bodied despite its powerful tannins and evolves towards jammy notes that improve with age.

Service temperature: 16 to 18°C. Storage potential: 4 to 9 years.
